Sarah Jones Research Development Manager

Sarah supports academics in their research ambitions through expert funding advice, strategic planning and developing high-quality funding proposals.

Role

Sarah works Tuesday to Friday as the Research Development Manager in Research and Innovation Services (RIS) for the Faculty of Humanities and Social Sciences and the School of Management. Her work includes identifying opportunities and developing high-quality research proposals relevant to the following funders:

  • Arts and Humanities Research Council (AHRC)
  • British Council
  • Department for International Development (DfID)
  • Economic and Social Research Council (ESRC)
  • Leverhulme Trust
  • Nuffield Foundation

As part of the Research Development team, Sarah facilitates workshops and provides skills training for improving grant proposal outcomes.

Career

Before coming to Bath Sarah was the Research Manager at a Charity called Revolving Doors Agency. She was also a Research Officer at the University of Oxford, looking at the practice of risk assessment tools in the youth criminal justice system.

Education

Sarah has degrees in Law and Criminology.
