Career
I am a second-year Psychology student. I’m passionate about my degree because of my deep interest in human behaviour and understanding the factors that influence our decisions.
I decided to become a Student Employability Coach because, shortly after starting my first year, I realised I had no idea how to create a university-level CV, develop a LinkedIn profile, or craft the perfect cover letter — all of which I soon found are essential skills for success at university. This left me feeling stressed and overwhelmed, especially as it seemed like everyone else around me had a clearer understanding of these things. Therefore, I invested time in researching, learning, and attending various Careers workshops to build up these essential skills. Now, I’m eager to help others who might be in the same position I was in during my first year. I understand how daunting it can be when it feels like everyone else knows exactly what to do, and I want to support others in navigating that journey with confidence.
I have previously volunteered in an HR role for a charity, where I gained insight into what employers look for in a CV after screening several myself. I also conducted interviews, which has given me a good understanding of the types of questions employers might ask and how they expect candidates to respond. I’ve also worked in social media and marketing roles, including a summer internship with the NHS as a digital communications intern. This experience has helped me learn how to target CVs and cover letters effectively, and I can offer specific advice to those interested in similar roles!
I love sharing music, attending concerts and festivals, and discovering the best spots in Bath for great music. I also enjoy playing music and have been getting pretty good at the ukulele! Beyond music, I’m passionate about fashion and clothing design, particularly sustainable fashion. I’m an advocate for buying and selling second-hand clothes.
