Samantha Evans Widening Participation Administrator (Events)
Sam supports the Outreach Officers within Widening Participation, with the planning and administration of outreach events for primary and secondary schools.
The Widening Participation (WP) team organizes outreach events and collaborates with schools, colleges and others to help students from all backgrounds learn more about their options. The programme of events is aimed at under-represented students to encourage and support them to consider higher education as an option.
Sam works closely alongside the Outreach Officer (Events) on various events such as campus visits, taster days and off-campus events.
Sam also works alongside the WP Research and Evaluation Officer collating and inputting student data onto the Higher Education Access Tracker (HEAT) which helps higher education institutions (HEIs) in England track students that have taken part in outreach activities in schools and colleges, through to their achievement in higher education.
Sam has worked in a variety of administrative roles over the last 25 years. She worked within the Civil Service (the Benefits Agency and the Ministry of Defence) before returning to education in 2002 to undertake a degree.
