Critical Worker status and supporting staff with school-age children - Guide for staff and managers
This explains Govt guidance on children of critical workers who can access schools and the University's approach to supporting our staff in this situation
This guide explains the Government guidance on children of critical workers and vulnerable children who can access schools or educational settings (updated on 8 and 12 January 2021) and the University's approach to supporting our staff in this situation.
Department for Education (DfE) latest guidance on 12 January confirms that higher education staff who are required to deliver or to support delivery of teaching or research and the provision of appropriate university facilities are considered critical workers for the purposes of access to education. It advises that children with at least one parent or carer who is a critical worker can go to school or college if required, but parents and carers should keep their children at home if they can.
