DRAGON-WEX: the Drake Passage and Southern Ocean wave experiment
We are measuring atmospheric waves with satellites and radars to improve weather forecast and climate models.
Using ionospheric science to improve satellite navigation systems and radio communications

Protecting critical infrastructure from extreme space weather and radio jamming
Through space-based communication research we’ve influenced public policy and security. Our algorithms help keep GPS systems functioning and accurate.
About us
We are a lively research community of academics, researchers and postgraduates, including Honorary Professors from leading UK industry. We engage in interdisciplinary research, receive significant external research funding and collaborate with leading national and international research groups. We have strong collaborations with the Met Office and the British Antarctic Survey.
