The COP26 Universities Network – a network of over 80 UK-based universities and research centres - is producing a film of youth climate voices from around the world.
Entitled ActNowFilm, the film will feature video contributions from 18–30-year-olds across the globe, outlining how climate change is affecting them, and what they want to tell climate negotiators at the UN COP26 Climate Change Conference.
Led by a student team, colleagues from Cambridge Zero, and our Head of Policy Programmes and Communications, Amy Thompson, ActNowFilm seeks to genuinely show how climate change is affecting young people, and give young people living across the planet the opportunity to tell decision-makers, in their words, why stopping climate change is important to them.
The film has been shortlisted by the Cabinet Office to be premiered in the Green Zone at COP26, and be shown directly to key climate negotiators, policymakers, academics, and the public throughout the conference. Amy Thompson explains:

It’s so important to listen to the voices and concerns of future generations and ensure their lived experiences are recognised by those at the helm of climate change science and policy.”
ActNowFilm is currently accepting video submissions to the film. Amy Thompson adds:
"If you’re aged between 18-30, we welcome your involvement in ActNowFilm and encourage you to join us – wherever you’re based – and have your voice heard.”

The COP26 Universities Network is a growing group of over 80 UK-based universities and research centres working together to raise ambition for tangible outcomes from the UN COP26 Climate Change Conference, to be held in Glasgow, Scotland in November 2021. The UK will host the 26th UN COP26 Climate Change Conference in Glasgow on 31 October – 12 November 2021. The COP26 summit will bring parties together to accelerate action towards the goals of the Paris Agreement and the UN Framework Convention on Climate Change.
