The University of Bath President’s award is a new award intended to honour individuals who have made an exceptional and sustained contribution to the University, the city of Bath or region in ways other than those recognised by honorary degrees and in a manner which reflects our objects as defined in our Royal Charter and enduring values.

The award also aims to recognise members of the University community who have had a significant impact on other people’s lives whether locally, nationally, or internationally.

All members of the University community are invited to put forward nominations for President’s Awards including staff, students, University alumni, former members of staff, Members of Council and Members of Court.

Nominations from external proposers are welcome if supported by a member of University staff.

Recipients will serve as role models for the University community. Their behaviour, example or achievement will inspire others and encourage the determination and discipline to achieve, even against setbacks or difficulties.

Awards should reflect the values of the University and recognise the importance of Equality, Diversity, and Inclusivity.

The deadline for this round of nominations is Friday 27 January 2023.

Further information, including nomination criteria and how to make a nomination, can be found on the President’s Awards page of the website.

It is anticipated that the first recipients of the University of Bath President’s Awards will be celebrated at a special event held in summer 2023, hosted by the Vice-Chancellor.
