The International Mobility Team are now welcoming applications for Turing Scheme funding from students who are completing or have secured a study exchange or work placement abroad for the 2022/23 academic year. The deadline for applications is 9am on Tuesday 8 November 2022.

In order to be eligible to apply for the University of Bath’s 2022/23 Turing Scheme funding, you must:

  • be registered at the University of Bath and enrolled in studies leading to a recognised degree (all levels of study, up to and including the level of doctorate, are eligible)
  • be studying or working in person at your placement abroad (remote and virtual activities are not eligible for Turing Scheme funding)
  • be aged 18+ on departure
  • not be a national citizen of the destination country (e.g. if you are a Spanish national completing a placement in Madrid you will not qualify for funding)
  • not be already in receipt of funding from a different source to cover specific activity costs (e.g. Erasmus+, BRID fund, Mitacs, etc.), as this would result in double funding
  • be undertaking a study exchange or work placement abroad lasting between 4 weeks and 12 months
  • be undertaking a study exchange or work placement abroad between 1 September 2022 and 31 August 2023 (any dates outside of this window are not eligible for funding)

Due to funding being limited, this academic year we are unable to guarantee whether double mobilities (i.e. two separate mobilities) will be eligible for funding.

Please note that funding is limited and is NOT guaranteed. You must NOT rely on Turing Scheme funding, as an application to the Scheme does NOT guarantee that you will successfully receive funding, even if your application fits all the eligibility criteria listed above.

In the event of demand from students exceeding the number of funded places awarded to the University of Bath by the UK Government, a process of prioritising applications will be implemented when allocating grants. As part of our decision process, we may also take into account if you:

  • are from a disadvantaged background
  • have special educational needs and/or disabilities
  • have a period abroad as a compulsory part of their degree programme
  • are completing an unpaid or lower paid placement

Please see our FAQs page for information about eligibility.
