We are pleased to confirm that we will be doing everything that we can to hold in-person, Covid-secure, graduation ceremonies during July 2021.
Detailed planning is in progress and more information will be provided in due course. Both students who are eligible to graduate this summer and students who graduated in 2020 will receive invitations to attend.
Our plans will be guided by the UK government’s roadmap which remains subject to review. We will continue to follow developments closely. Ceremony arrangements will be adapted to prioritise the health and safety of students, accompanying guests and staff.
The plan is to hold ceremonies on campus from the 19th July for approximately 2 weeks unless circumstances outside the University’s control require a decision to cancel. Though it is hoped all legal limits on social contact will be removed by this time, we will plan for social distancing at 2 metres.
We appreciate that constraints on travel or personal circumstances may make it difficult to attend in person and all eligible students will retain the opportunity to attend a ceremony in person on a future occasion.
