It has been agreed that the following staff criteria can now undertake University Consultancy as the named or lead academic Principal Investigator:
- Research Associates
- Teaching/Research Fellows

We very much welcome this inclusive change to consultancy staff criteria which will enable more academics to lead University Knowledge Exchange activities, promote external engagement, stimulate longer term research development, and support their career development.
Research Associates and Research Fellows whose employment contract is externally funded must ensure that there are no contractual restrictions concerning the undertaking of commercial activities for the University.
Staff must seek confirmation from either Human Resources or their Principal Investigator or Head of Department on whether there are any contractual restrictions in their contract that may prevent the undertaking of commercial activities for the University.
