The press office provides bespoke bitesize media training sessions for academic staff to build their confidence in publicising their research and contributing expertise to public debate.

Speaking to the news media about your research can help get your work and knowledge in front of lots of people, and can lead to real benefits, including a higher professional profile and even new research opportunities.

Over a couple of hours, alongside one or two colleagues, the training sessions give an overview of what news media are looking for, as well as practical tips on how to approach working with journalists, and the chance to practise ‘live’ interviews.
