Firstly, it is with great pleasure that the Equality, Diversity and Inclusion team would like to thank Adalgisa Giorgio for the nine years that she spent chairing Equality and Diversity Network (EDN). It was undoubtedly an eventful period and she has worked really hard for the success and development of the Network. We wish Adalgisa all the best in the future.

Secondly, we are delighted to announce that the Vice-Chancellor has formally appointed Aurelien Mondon and Lizzi Milligan jointly in the role of EDN Chair from 1 August 2018 to 31 July 2021. This is an excellent step forward for the University and we are very excited to see them both in the role.

Georgina Brown, Equality and Diversity Manager, said: "Aurelien and Lizzi come to this post with considerable experience and knowledge of issues of justice, liberalism and equality. Their research interests include racism, islamophobia, international perspectives and gender norms. The joint appointment provides us with a unique opportunity to combine their in-depth understanding and unique approaches, ensuring we benefit from more inclusive thinking."

Mark Humphriss, Chair of the Equality and Diversity Committee, added: "I would like to thank Adalgisa for all the time and tremendous commitment she has put into leading the Network over the past nine years. Thank you to the many people who applied to succeed her. I am delighted to welcome Aurelien and Lizzi who are well placed to ensure that the Network equips members to be champions for equality, diversity and inclusion and enable us all to value diversity in the University community."
