The University is carrying out a programme of work to deliver positive change in research culture at the University of Bath, supported by funding from Research England.
As part of this work we are holding the University's inaugural Research Culture Week from Monday 20 to Friday 24 June 2022.
There will be a range of events and activities to highlight some of the projects funded and to start conversations about aspects of research culture at the University. These will be a mixture of on campus, online and hybrid sessions to accommodate as many individuals from our University community.
Activities will be aligned to the Research Culture pillars of: Career Development; Collegiality; Open Research; Research Design; Research Integrity and Ethics; Research Recognition.
Throughout the week the Images of Research 2022 Exhibition will be taking place at The Edge to showcase the shortlisted entries to the popular Images of Research Competition.

Monday 20 June
- 12.30-13.30: Open Research Debate in 4W 1.2
- 15.00-17.00: Technicians thank you social event at the Claverton Rooms
Tuesday 21 June
- 09:00-12:00: Safe Pod Demo in the Library drop-in
- 14.00-15.00 Research Professional demonstration online
Wednesday 22 June
- 09.00-12.00: Knowledge Exchange Community of Practice launch in 4W 1.2 with an online option
- 15:30-16:30 Images of Research 2022 exhibition launch at the Edge
Thursday 23 June
- 11.00-14.00: There will be a pop-up table outside the Library to speak with technicians, and representatives from RIS and the Library about anything Research Culture related
- 12.30-13.30: The Impact of Covid on Research Careers online
- 15.00-16.00: The dos and don'ts of IP and commercialisation with Freeths LLP online

Enhancing research culture is a long term project combining listening, learning and action. This first research culture week provides us with an opportunity to engage with some interesting events that reflect the issues that researchers at Bath are engaging with. Following these events, we will be seeking your feedback on these as well as other ideas for further enhancing our research culture.
