On Wednesday 2 May, the International Relations Office hosted an event at the Roman Baths to say farewell to exchange and visiting students who have made Bath their home. During the academic year 2017/18, we have hosted approximately 300 students from over 25 different countries in Europe and beyond, contributing to our rich and diverse international community on campus.

The evening also presented an opportunity for Bath students who will embark on their own period of study or work overseas next academic year, to network and learn from the experiences of their peers. Students were also joined by staff from across the University all wanting to wish them well and to celebrate the significant opportunities of studying or working abroad.

All exchange and visiting students were invited to enter an image that represented their time at Bath into the ‘Cultural Heritage’ photo competition. Students and staff were invited to vote for their favourite entry throughout the evening with the winners presented with University prizes to help them remember their time in Bath.

Attendees heard from current Bath Exchange and Erasmus Network committee members who each reflected on their own experiences of study abroad and the positive impact it has had on their personal and professional development whilst at the University.

The event was funded using Erasmus+ organisational support resources.
