From Tuesday 18 January, we are making further improvements to increase the security of your Microsoft 365 applications (Word, Excel etc). These improvements are designed to provide peace of mind that no matter where you are using your University Microsoft 365 account, you will be protected when using these apps, through the introduction of 'Office Cloud Policy Service'.
When new configurations are enabled via the Office Cloud Policy, we will notify the University community of those that might benefit you.
The Office Cloud Policy Service is tailored to ensure any protections we deploy work with you and not against you - such as the new feature, which gives you control over certain protections e.g. Macros.
Enhanced protection when using Macros
When working with trusted files that make use of legacy or vulnerable Office features (e.g. Macros) you will have the option to override this protection by selecting the 'Override Policy' in the Office ribbon.
