We’re pleased to announce that former IPR Visiting Fellow, Professor Allister McGregor, has been newly appointed as IPR Visiting Professor.

Professor McGregor joins us from the University of Sheffield, where he was Professor of Political Economy in the Department of Politics. He also joins us from the Institute for Development Studies at the University of Sussex, where he was Leader of their Vulnerability and Poverty Reduction Team and a member of their Senior Management Group.

During his time as an IPR Visiting Fellow, Professor McGregor worked extensively on collaborative initiatives in bringing the University of Bath together with Bath and North East Somerset (BANES) and the local community.

As Visiting Professor, he will continue this work, as well as help supervise our students undertaking the Professional Doctorate in Policy Research and Practice, and support teaching in the Department of Social and Policy Sciences.

On his appointment, Director of the IPR, Professor Nick Pearce, adds:

"We’re delighted to welcome Professor McGregor back to the IPR. His work provides an invaluable contribution to engaging our research with the local community, and we, alongside our students, will benefit greatly from his expertise and advice."
