The University of Bath Staff Wellbeing Champion Network began in December 2019 and has grown from strength to strength.

Recently 10 new champions from across the University have been welcomed to the network and they are eager to engage in this volunteer role.

Wellbeing Champions can bring a number of benefits to the workplace, both on campus and in a virtual environment, for example they:

  • play a key role in promoting a wellbeing culture at the University of Bath by raising awareness around health and wellbeing activities and signposting to resources and support services;
  • encourage positive change in the workplace.
  • demonstrate a commitment to their own wellbeing, from taking regular breaks to abiding by out of hours email guidance, making it acceptable for others to behave in a similar way and set the benchmark for self-care;
  • have their ‘ear to the ground’, in the sense that, through observation and conversation, they can listen to the issues that really matter to their colleagues.
  • can be the first port of call if you need a listening ear or a friendly face.

You can come and meet our wellbeing champions on Time to Talk day, Thursday 3rd February, on campus or virtually, watch out for more information.
