During term time the wonderful Pets as Therapy come on to campus to run dog walking with students as part of our Be Well activities.

Dog walking was introduced at the University as a way to support students' wellbeing through walking, meeting others and the wellbeing benefits of interacting with dogs. Students who have attended sessions indicated that it has helped to reduce their stress levels, increase their exercise, combat homesickness and introduced them to other students. It has quickly become one of our most popular wellbeing events.

Pets as therapy are always looking for new dogs and owners to volunteer with the charity and you could even support our on-campus walks.

If you would like to volunteer with your dog or find out more information on what it involves visit the become a PAT volunteer page. Your dog will need to pass a temperament test, but once registered the commitment is flexible so you can give as much or as little time as you wish.

If you decide to make an application, please also contact r.heyes@bath.ac.uk who can put you in touch with the local co-ordinator and assessor who would be happy to carry out an assessment locally, or tell you a bit more about our on campus walks.
