The University has 22 sub-stations and plans to replace four them over the next two months to ensure ongoing reliability and resilience.

To minimise disruption, generators will be used while each sub-station is switched over. A second backup generator will also be available to ensure power is maintained.

The interruptions will be for a maximum of one hour while the buildings’ power supply is safely switched to the generator and then when the buildings are reconnected to the mains electricity supply. During this interruption, there will be no electricity supplied to the building.

5 South, 4 South Annexe, the Astro Pitches and carpark lighting

  • Tuesday, 5 November: 7am - 8am
  • Wednesday, 6 November: 6pm - 7pm

3 South, 4 South, 3 South Annexe and Green Houses

  • Tuesday, 19 November: 6am - 7am
  • Wednesday, 20 November: 6pm - 7pm

1 South, 2 South and the Woodlands

  • Tuesday, 7 January: 7am - 8am
  • Wednesday, 8 January: 6pm - 7pm

7 West, 8 West, 9 West and 10 West

  • Tuesday, 7 January: 6am - 7am
  • Wednesday, 8 January: 6pm - 7pm

Please report any remaining electrical problems outside of the planned power interruption as a work request via the Fault Reporting System.
