An honorary degree is one of Higher Education's most significant accolades. Each year, the University grants honorary degrees to individuals of superior merit and in recognition of outstanding achievement on a national or international level. These are awarded twice a year, at our Summer and Winter award ceremonies in July and December.

The Honorary Degrees Committee welcomes nominations from staff and students at the University and is putting a call out for nominations ahead of the next committee meeting. The committee particularly welcomes proposals that reflect the cultural diversity and international character of the University and promote its commitments to gender equality.

The deadline for this round of nominations is Friday 30 April 2021.

Further guidance, including nomination criteria and how to make a nomination, can be found on the Honorary Degrees page of the website.
