The Skills Centre has published details about its Semester 1 skills provision. This includes:

• Skills enrichment classes on Discussion Skills and Presentation Skills and a range of one-off academic writing sessions, LOIL from week 2.
• 1-1 writing tutorials, in-person in the Skills Zone (6E2.8) and online, from week 4.
• Recommended e-learning modules on academic writing, study skills and other topics. The Macmillan ‘Skills for Study’ modules are designed to help students prepare for the University’s mandatory Academic Integrity Test.
• Academic & Employability Skills blog for regular tips and guidance on a range of skills topics.
• Maths and statistics drop-ins every day in-person in the Skills Zone, from week 1.
• Specialist statistics appointments for students doing project work, from week 1.
• English language 10-week course at three levels, online from week 2 (registration closes 4 October).
• Foreign language courses in eight languages at different levels, online from week 2.
• British Studies 11-week courses for visiting and exchange students, online from week 1.
• Digital skills resources to build students’ digital capabilities for their academic studies and future employability.
