Students from the French section in the Department of Politics, Languages & International Studies have launched a weekly French language radio show on University Radio Bath called The Baguette Show. Leading the project are Modern Languages and European studies students Vicki Maher and James Green, who last Thursday welcomed the French baker, and former BBC Food Champion of the Year, Richard Bertinet to the show to discuss his career cooking throughout Europe and setting up his own cookery school in Bath city centre.

The radio show, that will run weekly on University Radio Bath, has been produced to help create links with the French community in Bath. The French section of the department are aiming to organise this kind of activity to improve real life language skills and to develop employability skills through fun student lead activities.

Vicki and James said, "We were delighted to welcome Richard Bertinet to The Baguette Show this afternoon. He was an incredibly engaged and interesting guest, and even kind enough to bring along gifts of mince pies and stollen. If anyone is interested in participating in the show, please do get in touch. It’s a great opportunity to practice your French in a different and fun setting!"
