Dear colleagues,

I would like to thank all those who supported our Open Day event on Saturday for their hard work and commitment to the University.

It is very important for those considering study here to have an opportunity to visit and whilst some aspects of the event were necessarily cancelled as a mark of respect during this period of national mourning, we were able – thanks to your efforts – to run our full programme of talks and tours.

Whether you were setting up the campus in the early hours, giving a talk, leading a tour, staffing a stand in the Information Fair or welcoming and helping visitors to campus, I would like to thank you for all you have done. Your help and support is much appreciated.

Ensuring these events run smoothly always involves a great deal of work but I’d like to highlight the contribution made by colleagues in campus services, including hospitality and security, in campus infrastructure, in the events team and our many student ambassadors - it really is a team effort.

If you have any comments about any aspect about the Open Day, we would be pleased to hear from you and ask you to email the events team.

I’d also like to thank in advance those of you who are helping to deliver our Virtual Open Day on September 21st which is such an important addition to our activity in support of Admissions.

With thanks and best wishes,

Professor Julian Chaudhuri Pro-Vice-Chancellor (Education)
