The University’s new on-site high throughput computer (HTC), Anatra, is now available for researchers and postgraduate students.

Anatra will support software applications that can’t run on our new Microsoft Azure cloud due to licencing restrictions, such as Gaussian and GaussView.

The HTC cluster is part of the suite of new research computing environments, allowing the University to continue to support a diverse range of computationally intensive research in all disciplines.

The cluster, named after our much-loved ducks by the campus pond, features eight AMD Milan nodes providing a total of 384 cores and is optimised for single node workloads. View full list of Anatra features.

Please complete the Anatra project request form if you would like to use the cluster for your research.

High performance computing and research software play an increasingly important role in delivering scientific breakthroughs in all academic disciplines.
