As we begin to emerge from the COVID-19 pandemic and enter a new academic year, we have been re-thinking how we work in the future, building on our learning through this time and experimenting with new ways of doing things. Your views on the type of workplace we are and want to become is fundamental to this. This survey is part of the ongoing listening exercise to understand what you think about on these key questions.

Views from the June survey have been instrumental in shaping our approach to future ways of working. Building on the attributes of consultation, choice and learning, the Future Ways of Working project was developed for professional services staff with office-based roles. Resources developed over the summer have been brought together in a topic page which will continue to be built on as our learning grows.

With the project now entering this learning phase, over the coming months we will be taking time to evaluate what has happened so far and draw out the lessons that individuals/departments may find useful.

Further work is needed to respond to the issues identified by Carers in the June survey, and this will be looked at during the academic year.

In this survey we begin to explore the culture of working here and are interested in the perspectives of different groups by job family, gender and length of service. There are also more detailed questions on our IT systems which follows on from concerns raised in previous surveys.

Complete the staff survey here

The survey should take no longer than 5 minutes to complete (or around 10 minutes if you choose to respond to the IT systems part of the survey). There is also the opportunity to add your general comments at the end.

The survey is completely anonymous and conducted in line with the Data Protection Act. Responses will be treated confidentially, and we will not look at the views of groups of less than 10, so no individual can be identified.

If you have more than one role, please complete the survey for the role you spend most time in. If you wish to comment on your other role(s) please use the free text box at the end.

Please take part by the end of Monday 8 November.

If you have any queries please contact Deborah Griffin.
