Audrey Chen, recent University of Bath graduate from Taiwan and popular YouTuber, joined Dr Peter Nuttall, Associate Dean (International) and James O’Grady, Postgraduate Student Recruitment Manager, for an insightful and engaging event in Taipei earlier this month.

Organised and hosted by James and Pete, the event provided a rare opportunity for students to learn about what it is like to study in the UK as an international student. Students were captivated by Audrey’s recounting of her journey from applicant to graduate.

Situated on stage, Pete posed interview questions that ranged from exploring her experiences of arriving in Bath for the first time to the challenges she faced and overcame as a student, and her personal reflections on life as a student in Bath.

Audrey studied Marketing at Bath last year and has since gone on to forge a successful and lucrative career as a Youtuber, producing videos on a range of topics, including many focusing on here time spent in Bath. Many of her videos have racked up more than 250,000 views on the video platform, and her presence at the event was eagerly anticipated by almost 100 students who are looking to study in the UK.

As well as hosting the event, James also led the Q&A session; giving students the opportunity to put their own questions to Audrey before embarking on their student journey to the UK.

Time was reserved for networking at the end of the event, when attendees had the chance to meet Audrey in person, discuss and ask more questions about studying abroad and applying for a place at Bath. It also provided a great opportunity for taking selfies. Attendees were also able to take away a University of Bath framed photo as a memento of the event.
