We offer a wide range of maths courses, including more specialised courses focussing on statistics and data science. We also offer undergraduate master's degrees.

All of our courses are flexible and allow for a wide choice of units after year one.

On some courses you may switch courses during the first year or after the first year.

If you're on the BSc you can switch to the MMath, an excellent preparation for going into research in pure or applied mathematics, or many other subjects that use mathematics.

You'll be able to choose from a wide range of optional units in the areas of pure and applied mathematics, and probability and statistics.

You'll also be able to choose optional units offered by other departments such as:

Take advantage of our strong links with industry and go on a placement as part of your studies.


With all of our maths courses, you can go on a placement after your second year.

We have links with some of the industry’s leading research institutions and global companies. Recent employers include BAE Systems, Deloitte, Department of Health and Social Care, Lloyds Banking Group, The AA, and Abbott Diabetes Care.

Our specialist placements team offers dedicated support when you're looking for a placement and throughout your placement.
