Distance learning and our courses

You can study these courses entirely through distance learning.

Be part of a community

Distance learning with us gives you access to a global community of academics and learners. This will help you to gain an international perspective on your chosen field of study and broaden your knowledge. You’ll be able to collaborate and share ideas with people from different countries and cultures.

You will have an individual tutor for each of your units, who you will be able to contact via email or Teams/Zoom. Your tutor will assist with any queries and provide support for your assignment.

Our virtual learning environment

Moodle, our virtual learning environment, is logical and easy to use.

You'll be able to access relevant course materials, as well as many other resources, by using Moodle.

Moodle will allow you to browse the University’s extensive online library and use a range of online tools to help you successfully complete your studies.

What you'll need

Take full advantage of the learning resources available to you.

To use the online resources available, you will need regular access to a computer with an internet connection. High-speed broadband access is recommended.

The University will make available to you the key software you need for your course, such as Microsoft Teams and Zoom through your University account. You’ll need regular access to a computer with a microphone and camera to make use of this software.

Moodle will allow you to access and interact with most course elements, readings, multimedia and discussions through tablets and smartphones. While tablets, smartphones and other mobile devices may allow for some completion of coursework, they are not guaranteed to work in all areas. Please ensure you have a laptop or desktop computer available to complete your coursework.

Support while you learn

No matter where you are, you won't be alone.

Our Student Services team can provide assistance with anything from wellbeing and mental health support, to financial advice.
