As a new doctoral student from Canada, you may be eligible to apply for funding.

The Canadian Centennial Scholarship Fund

The Canadian Centennial Scholarship Fund (CCSF) offers financial support to Canadian doctoral students.


The CCSF provides awards for Canadian students who are pursuing academic and artistic postgraduate studies in the UK.

Up to 15 scholarships are available for 2022/23 applicants.


Eligibility criteria

To be eligible to apply for a CCSF award, you must:

  • be a Canadian citizen with a valid Canadian passport. Proof of Canadian citizenship is required in the form of a pdf of the main page of your valid passport
  • have lived in Canada
  • be currently enrolled in a postgraduate programme (or equivalent) and at the time of applying be attending a full-time UK university or similar institution, and have completed at least one full-time term of study, with at least one full-time term remaining from September 2022
  • be able to demonstrate academic excellence
  • require funds to complete your studies

Applicants undertaking a one-year programme are not eligible.

If you have previously applied, you may re-apply. The CCSF offers a maximum of two scholarships to any individual.
