International Summer School

A free, online programme for students looking to apply for undergraduate degree courses starting in September 2024. *Please note, applications are now closed*

What is the International Summer School?

The International Summer School is a one-week programme that aims to provide prospective international students with an insight into studying and student life at the University of Bath.

The International Summer School is a free, online programme (via Microsoft Teams) focusing on various course areas offered at the University, consisting of a programme of academic activities, general sessions on applying to and studying in the UK and having contact with current students at the University. You will also be able to engage with your peers looking to studying a similar course to you.

Successful completion of the programme will give access to a guaranteed conditional offer subject to conditions (see details below).

This year's summer school will take place from Monday 31st July to Friday 4th August 2023.

Who can apply for the International Summer School?

All international students (as classified by overseas fee status) who will be starting university in September 2024 and who are academically able to study at Bath in their chosen subject.

All students must also be able to show evidence of their English proficiency with an IELTS 5.5 overall or an equivalent school qualification. If you are a UK student, you may be interested in applying for our Step into Bath programme. Subjects on offer & academic requirements

Subject areas will include the below:

  • Biosciences
  • Business & Management
  • Engineering
  • Pharmacy & Pharmacology
  • Sports, Health and Exercise Science

All students must be able to show evidence of their English proficiency with an IELTS 5.5 overall or an equivalent school qualification. If you have any queries about academic or language requirements for the International Summer School, please get in touch.

Guaranteed Conditional Offer

If you complete the International Summer School, including the sessions and activities that are included, you will be guaranteed to receive an offer for a place to study at Bath.

This is based on the following conditions:

  • You will be applying to university as an international student (as classified by overseas fee status).

  • You will be applying for university in 2024 (if you plan to defer due to circumstances such as National Service, please get in touch).

  • You meet the academic requirements necessary for your chosen course.

  • A UCAS application is submitted by the UCAS equal consideration deadline.

  • The subject stream you undertook as part of the International Summer School is related to the degree you apply for.

Application Process

For your application, you will need to provide details of your predicted grades, any English language qualifications and write a small 300 word personal statement on why you want to join this programme.
