Amazing academic environment

The atmosphere at the National University of Singapore was amazing. The students were energetic, clever and hard working. I gained a lot of new knowledge but it was tough. I spent most of my free time studying.

Exploring new foods

One of the highlights of Singapore for me was the fantastic food available. It was hard to work out what it all was at times, particularly as Singaporeans speak ‘Singlish’, which I didn’t understand, but I enjoyed discovering many new flavours.

Overcoming difficulties

I found my study year abroad very useful for my course. Singaporeans are very friendly people so I learnt to overcome any difficulties with their help.

Think carefully before making a decision

I chose to take a year abroad studying in Singapore for my personal development and to gain knowledge of another culture. I feel I have done both but would advise other students to think carefully before making such a big decision.
