Research support

Find out about how we can support and facilitate research within the University of Bath, and local primary and community health and social care organisations.

Factsheet

We support all aspects of research from help with preparing research proposals to advising on involving the public in research.

We work closely with the Research Design Service (RDS) South West, which provides advice and practical support for people preparing research proposals for submission to peer-reviewed funding competitions for applied health and social care research.

We provide research governance services; and support researchers with queries regarding regulatory approvals.

We advise researchers on involving the public in health related research, which is a requirement for many health research funding bodies and streams; and we also support members of the public who would like to participate in health related research.

We also offer practical assistance on identifying and attributing the various costs, such as excess treatment costs (ETCs) and service support costs (SSCs), associated with research involving the NHS and other community health and social care providers.

Through our network of partners such as local Universities, the BSW Integrated Care Board (ICB), charities, community health and social care providers and local authorities; we promote and disseminate research to raise awareness, to help in securing funding for valued research in the local area and to build relationships between researchers and healthcare professionals within the local area.
