Professor Chia-Huei Wu, Chair in Organisational Psychology of University of Leeds and Associate Editor of Journal of Management, will deliver a talk on maintaining research while undertaking other work and non work-related responsibilities.

Chia-Huei will introduce the Journal of Management and share his experiences in preparing manuscripts for top management journals. Chia-Huei suggests that proactivity is fundamental to academic productivity. Based on the motivational model of proactivity (Parker et al., 2010, Journal of Management) that emphasizes “can do”, “reason to” and “energized to” as three motivational forces driving proactivity, Chia-Huei will share his experiences for how to strengthen the three forces to achieve academic productivity.

Speaker

Chia-Huei Wu is Professor at the University of Leeds, UK. He studies proactivity at work, work and personality development, and subjective well-being. His work has appeared in journals, including Academy of Management Journal, Journal of Applied Psychology, and Journal of Management. He is the author of the book Employee proactivity in organizations: An attachment perspective and currently serves as an associate editor for Journal of Management and the director of the Workplace Behaviour Research Centre at Leeds University Business School.
