Professor Donald Nordberg will reflect on the recent practice of charities, in two sectors that faced existential challenges during the pandemic. One is a major social care provider, the other a large arts organisation.

Donald Nordberg has three roles. He chairs Milestones Trust, a £30m a year social care provider, based in Bristol. He is non-executive director of The Lighthouse, a large performing arts organisation in Poole, and he is Associate Professor of Corporate Governance at Bournemouth University. His research has been published in Corporate Governance: An International Review, Business History, Leadership, International Journal for Disclosure and Governance, Philosophy of Management, and other journals, and he sits on the editorial boards of CGIR and Philosophy of Management. He is also author of The Cadbury Code & Recurrent Crisis (Palgrave: 2020) and Corporate Governance: Principles & Issues (Sage: 2011). In previous roles, he has been a senior editorial executive at Reuters and a consultant to companies including NatWest and United Business Media. He has also conducted leadership development for the Houses of Parliament and the Department of Health.
