A list of the progression and award decision codes students received for the 2019/20 academic year, and the full meaning of each of those codes

Introduction

If you received a progression or award decision from the Board of Studies for the 2019/20 academic year you can use the table below to understand what the decision means. You should use this table together with your progression decision code and list of unit results.

Where there is a requirement to take further assessment in order to progress to your next stage of study - decision codes starting with an R* in the table below - you will need to suspend your studies during 2020/21 while you take those assessments.

P-AWD_AD You have met your programme's requirements for an award and the Board of Studies have awarded you a degree. You can see the details of this award, including any classification on your SAMIS results page.
Under the University's COVID-19 no-detriment measures you also have the opportunity to undertake your outstanding, deferred assessment from the Semester 2 assessment period/Supplementary assessment period. These are indicated as units with a grade of AD.
If you wish to take the outstanding deferred assessments you must tell your Programme Administrator. The timing of assessments will depend on when units are run in 2020/1 so you must find out from your Programme Administrator the exact timing of each outstanding assessment and its requirements.
As part of the University's COVID-19 no-detriment measures, neither the unit mark nor your Overall Programme Average (OPA) will lower by taking any outstanding deferred assessment. If you do take them and improve your mark your revised profile of results will be considered at a subsequent Board of Examiners and a new transcript with the updated result(s) will be issued.
P-GRD_2.1_AD You have been awarded an Second-class honours first division degree (Upper second).
Under the University's COVID-19 No Detriment measures you also have the opportunity to undertake your outstanding, deferred assessment from the Semester 2 assessment period/Supplementary assessment period. These are indicated as units with a grade of AD.
If you wish to take the outstanding deferred assessments you must tell you Programme Administrator. The timing of assessments will depend on when units are run in 2020/1 so you must find out from your Programme Administrator the exact timing of each outstanding reassessment and its requirements.

R-RDS_FOUND Reassessment is required to pass the stage. You may also have outstanding deferred assessments from the Semester 2 assessment period/Supplementary assessment period that you are eligible to take under the University COVID-19 no-detriment measures. You can see these on your module results flagged with an AD grade.
D-YNC_S2 The Programme Board has not yet made an end of stage decision because not all of your modules results have been completed.
P-GRD_TTHECE Degree not achieved, leave with a Certificate of Higher Education.

D-YNC_S2 The Programme Board has not yet recommended an end of stage decision to the Board of Studies because not all of your module results have been completed.
F-RPTST You have not passed this stage of study and are required to repeat the whole stage.
F-RPTST_M You have not passed this stage of study and are required to repeat the whole stage. Due to mitigating circumstances the stage may be repeated as if for the first attempt.
F-TTDP You have not passed this stage of study on your current programme and are required to transfer from your current programme to the Designated Alternative Programme (DAP). If you look up your current programme in the web catalogue you will see any DAPs listed. (http://www.bath.ac.uk/catalogues/).
F-TTDP_WD This decision offers you a choice. You may choose to progress to the next stage of the Designated Alternative Programme (DAP) OR you may choose to withdraw from the programme. You will need to consider your options carefully, and visa holders should talk to the Student Immigration Service before making a decision. If you look up your current programme in the web catalogue you will see any DAPs listed. (http://www.bath.ac.uk/catalogues/). Please contact your Director of Studies to discuss your options.
F-TTDP+RPTST You have not passed this stage of study and are required to transfer from your current programme to the Designated Alternative Programme (DAP) AND to repeat the current stage. Visa holders should talk to the Student Immigration Service to discuss this programme change. You should also think about the maximum period of study allowed for programmes. F-RPT_EOS Fail and retake unit(s) at end of current stage.
You have not passed this stage of study and are now required to retake any failed units before moving to the next stage of study.
F-WD You have not passed this stage of study and are required to withdraw from the University.
P-COM Programme of study is complete.
P-CON Pass and progress to the next stage of study. You have failed some modules which were within the condonable range (module result mark of 35-39). The Board have agreed that these modules can be condoned and you have been awarded the credit for them. You are not required to do any reassessment.
P-CON_AD Pass and progress to the next stage of study.
You have failed some units which were within the condonable range (unit result mark of 35-39). The Board have agreed that these units can be condoned and you have been awarded the credit for them.

If you wish to take the outstanding deferred assessments you must tell you Programme Administrator. The timing of assessments will depend on when units are run in 2020/1 so you must find out from your Programme Administrator the exact timing of each outstanding reassessment and its requirements.

P-PGS_S1 Pass and progress to the next stage of study.
P-RDS_CP_1 Progress with trailing reassessment.
This decision offers you a choice. You can continue to the next stage of study but you will still need to take reassessment from the current stage. Alternatively you may choose to suspend your studies and take the outstanding reassessment during the suspension period.
The timing of assessment will depend on when the units are run in 2020/1 so you must find out from your Programme Administrator the exact timing of each outstanding assessment and its requirements.
Your Director of Studies/Programme Administrator will be able to advise you further.
P-RDS_CP_1 AD Progress with trailing reassessment.
This decision offers you a choice. You can continue to the next stage of study but you will still need to take reassessment from the current stage. Alternatively you may choose to suspend your studies and take the outstanding reassessment during the suspension period.
You must take reassessment in units with a mark below the pass mark (below 40)
University's no-detriment measures: While there is reassessment that you are required to do, you also have deferred assessment options.
At least one of your units has a grade marked with AD - 'Assessment Deferred'. This means that you have the opportunity to undertake your outstanding , deferred assessment(s). P-TTDP Transfer to the next stage of the Designated Alternative Programme. (A DAP is a Designated Alternative Programme which is associated with your course). If you are a visa holder please talk to the Student Immigration Service about the change of programme which might affect your visa.

The alternative to suspending your studies while you take the outstanding assessments is to repeat the stage of study. Please contact your Director of Studies and Programme Administrators to discuss your choice and confirm how you wish to study in 2020/1.
