Charlotte Moar Appointed by Council

Will undertake the responsibilities of members of governing bodies as set out in the CUC Guide for Members of Higher Education Governing Bodies in the UK.

Career

Charlotte is a Fellow of the Chartered Institute of Management Accountants. She studied music at the University of Cambridge where she held an organ scholarship. She trained whilst working as a Plant Accountant for AlliedSignal (now Honeywell) in Skelmersdale and then held NHS Director of Finance roles in Avon & Wiltshire Mental Health Partnership Trust, Cardiff & Vale University Health Board, Great Western Hospitals Foundation Trust and South Central Strategic Health Authority. Charlotte subsequently worked for NHS England leading national policy programmes on continuing health care and capital planning.

Charlotte is an external member/Chair of ARAC for the House of Lords Commission, a Non Executive Director and Chair of the Audit & Risk Committee of the Student Loans Company and NHS Resolution (the insurance company for the NHS). She is an independent Member of the Audit & Risk Committees of the Department for Education, National Lottery Community Fund, Equality and Human Rights Commission, and the Law Society, independent member of the Finance, Audit & Risk Committee at the Orwell Foundation. Charlotte was previously an independent member of the Audit, Risk & Performance Committee of the Medical Research Council and subsequently of UK Research and Innovation. She is also Trustee and Treasurer of Comic Relief.

Charlotte lives in Bath with her husband Danny, who is Director of the Theatre Royal. Her interests include mental health, travel and technology. Charlotte also studied Mandarin in the Bath University Foreign Languages Centre.
