Ivan Astin
Dr Ivan Astin - LecturerIvan is a lecturer in the Department of Electronic & Electrical Engineering.
We are all academics who work on projects related to Space, Atmospheric and Oceanic Science.
We research the effects of the natural environment on the propagation of the radio and acoustic waves used in critical modern technological systems, such as satellite navigation and timing systems (including GPS).
We use these remote-sensing systems for scientific studies of the Earth’s oceans, atmosphere and space environment.
Our research is driven by the need to understand the response of the natural environment to climate variability and space weather.
