Dr Harry Kuchah Kuchah, from the Department of Education’s Language and Educational Practices research cluster and a member of the MA TESOL (Teaching English to Speakers of Other Languages) team, has been selected for an honour by the US-based TESOL International Association.

As part of its 50th Anniversary celebrations, the TESOL International Association has selected just 30 recipients from nominations received from around the globe, for the newly instituted ’30 Up and Coming’ award. In the citation, the Association says: "TESOL wants to acknowledge the next generation in research, teaching, publishing and leadership. These emerging leaders will shape the future of both the association and the profession for years to come."

"Since joining us in September 2014 Harry has made a very positive impression on colleagues and students within the Department of Education and more widely within the University of Bath", says Dr Mary Hayden (Head of the Department of Education).

"In that short time the quality of his work and the contribution he is making not only at Bath but also internationally has become evident. It is entirely fitting that Harry’s work to date, and his clear potential as a future leader in the field, is being recognised in this way by one of the largest and most influential international associations in his particular area of research and teaching. Congratulations Harry!"
