Amdocs, which may or may not be the same as Cramer but is run by Harjeet, stepped in to fill a gap that had appeared in our fixture list. We bowled, reasonably well (Sanket was particularly good), caught rather badly except for Simon and Agam, and ended up chasing 122, which was perhaps a dozen more than it really should have been. Anand took out an opener early, and there was really only one very threatening batsman after that, though there were several competent ones. He attacked Gregory without due care and attention, although he was perhaps unlucky in that the fieldsman he picked out was Simon. Sanket dealt effectively with the rest of the batting, aided by Agam’s catching: Prasanth for once went wicketless.

Next thing we knew we were 15 for 4 and the match was effectively over. Chris, after one good shot, and Agam were both leg before, wandering across the stumps. Saad picked out cover point first ball, and Rohit simply missed a straight ball for no apparent reason. Sanket, Alex and Aby applied themselves more determinedly, but each of them in turn suffered a failure of concentration and gave simple catches. Only Alex, just, and Aby got into double figures.
