Pre-Award Manager

Research and Innovation Services wish to appoint a Pre-Award Manager to take operational responsibility for an established team of well respected Pre-Award experts and to lead the team to support the delivery of the University of Bath strategy for research.

Working closely with the Head of Research Funding as well as other colleagues, you will take ownership of the day-to-day activity of the Pre-Award team within RIS. You will also have responsibility for the University's costing tool, ensuring it is able to provide accurate information in support of externally funded research project budgets.

About you

You will have excellent organisational, leadership and interpersonal skills along with a good understanding of the research funding landscape for the higher education sector.

You should have

  • an ability to scrutinise sophisticated documents and draw out relevant information
  • excellent attention to detail
  • self-confidence and the ability to stand your ground
  • the ability to remain calm under pressure

The role is being advertised at 1fte, but there is some flexibility that it could be reduced to 0.8fte for the right candidate. The post is eligible for hybrid working (with a priority for working on campus on Wednesdays).
