Four students have been selected to take part in the finals of the KPMG International Case Competition external website . They will travel to Dubai in April to compete against teams from across the world to solve a series of complex business challenges.

Jamie Hollander, Ben Ward, Desi Georgieva and Rumyana Nikolova formed a team after KPMG Luxembourg contacted their Placement Officer. The third year International Management and Modern Languages students are all on placements with companies in Luxembourg, Paris and Frankfurt.

Winning the Luxembourg heat

Seven teams from some of the top business schools in Europe competed in the two-day event in Luxembourg.

Following a day of intense training, each team had three hours to analyse a business case. They then presented their proposals to a panel of KPMG partners.

The Bath team were shortlisted alongside a team from SKEMA Business School and impressed the judges with a five minute pitch on why they should represent KPMG Luxembourg at the International Finals.

Each team also produced a short video for the Meet the 2016 Teams competition. The videos are available to view on the KICC website and the team with the most votes will win first place.

In April, the team will join teams from 27 countries on an all-expense-paid trip to Dubai. Here they will compete in a four-day event designed to showcase agile thinking.

Jamie said:

We are extremely proud to be representing KPMG Luxembourg and the University of Bath at the finals in Dubai. We hope that this opportunity will encourage more students to apply next year as it truly has been an incredible experience for all of us.

Congratulations to Jamie, Ben, Desi and Rumayana. They have been supported in the CASE Competition by the School of Management Student Association.
