Recession-hit businesses offered help from the University of Bath

The University of Bath is inviting businesses needing support during the recession to apply for help from its graduates and academics.

The University has secured more than £200,000 and established the Graduate Experience Scheme to help businesses during the current downturn.

A new scheme has been established to provide qualified graduates to work with approved companies supported by a University of Bath academic, who will also be available to advise the company.

The scheme will be linked to a fully funded Masters programme which involves the graduate working in the company for a prolonged period before and after the MSc training.

Director of Research Development & Support at the University, Dr Rob Head, said: "The University is delighted to have secured funding from the Government to assist us in working with businesses to meet their short-term economic challenges.

"Our new Graduate Experience Scheme will provide companies with skilled graduates and the benefit of working with one of our academics to address important business issues. The scheme is available now and we are currently working with interested companies and graduates.

"We believe the concept will realise significant benefits and anticipate it will become an established scheme in the future. This is particularly attractive to graduates interested in undertaking fully funded postgraduate training at the University of Bath."

Interested companies and graduates are invited to contact either Clive Bailey on 01225 385201 or Dr Rob Head on 01225 384923 for an informal discussion.
