Tweeters wanted to support Universities Week

Universities Week runs from 13 to 19 June and aims to show how universities benefit everyone, whether or not they have gone to university themselves.

As part of this, there will be a 24 hour Twitter marathon taking place on Friday 17 June in which researchers and members of the University community are asked to tweet updates about their work.

The official hashtag for the event is #UniWeek and it would be great if you could also include #UniofBath so that we can see all the great work happening here on campus.

NEW TO TWITTER? For those without a twitter account, but keen to get started, there is a quick guide available here.

You can follow the University on Twitter at @UniofBath.

We’re really looking forward to the Universities Week 24 hour Twitter marathon and look forward to seeing other members of our community taking part!

UPDATE: It has been suggested that we include here a number of Twitter accounts that might be useful to follow to stay up to date with Universities Week. Well, obviously we think you should follow us at @UniofBath, but others you might like to consider are:

Times Higher Education: @timeshighered
Guardian Higher Education: @GdnHigherEd
Universities UK: @UniversitiesUK
National Union of Students: @NUSUK

ADDITIONAL INFO: If you 'Geo-locate' your tweets for the day, we can demonstrate how many #UniWeek tweeters are from Bath. It would be great if it were clearly visible that lots of Bath tweeters are joining in with the marathon.

You can add geo-location to your tweets through the settings page in your Twitter account. While this is a great idea for tweets from your desk at the University, we do want to make it clear that we recognise there may be security issues using geo-location for tweets sent from mobile devices.
