EPSRC release map of full research portfolio

The Engineering & Physical Science Research Council (EPSRC) have just released their research portfolio outlining how they will continue to support excellent, long term research and high quality postgraduate training in order to contribute to the economic competitiveness of the UK and the quality of life of its people. At any one time the ESPRC support a portfolio of research and training between £2 - 3billion.

Student awarded prize for professional placement year blog

Jonathan Gleave (Sport & Exercise Science student) has become the first student to win the Nike prize for blogging during his professional placement year. Jonathan worked at the Auckland University of Technology (AUT) in New Zealand and used his biomechanics and physiology skills to work on a range of projects, from elite sports science to childhood exercise health. Runners up included: Natalie Greening, Anna Ross and Joe Dale (Sport & Exercise Science students).

Engineering lecturer honoured by HEA fellowship scheme

Dr Gary Lock of Mechanical Engineering has been awarded a fellowship worth £10,000 by the Higher Education Academy.
