Pete Clark, Head of AV Services, retires after 42 years

Pete Clark joined the University in September 1970 as a junior technician in the Department of Biochemistry.

He later moved to the Audio Visual Department; there were just two members of staff at the time - equipment and demand was somewhat different then.

Pete is now the manager of 14 Audio Visual staff and manages the AV equipment across campus in all general teaching rooms.

Over the years, Pete has ensured the lecture rooms have been kept up to date with current technologies, including our current situation of making the majority self-access.

In addition to his work with the Audio Visual Department and BUCS, Pete is an active member of the General Teaching Accommodation Working Party (GTAWP), assisting with specifications for new buildings, providing information on technical equipment and a whole host more.

There will be an opportunity for friends and colleagues to say farewell to Pete in the Claverton Rooms on Thursday 2 August at 3.30pm. All are welcome.

For catering purposes please confirm attendance by 25 July with Cher Hulin or phone ext 4298.

If you would like to sign Pete’s card and/or make a donation towards a gift, please see Cher at the AV desk level 2 of the library.
