Thank you to all for another successful Open Day

A message from the Pro-Vice-Chancellor, Professor Bernie Morley:

I would like to offer my sincere thanks to all of you who played a part in making Saturday’s Open Day such a huge success. We estimate that a record number of over 10,000 visitors were here on the day to find out more about our programmes, our campus and our facilities.

Whether you were involved in the work to get the campus ready for the big day, or here on Saturday to meet, greet and help our visitors, I think we can all be proud of the way we represented our University.

There was a really positive and vibrant buzz on campus. The Parade, our accommodation, and the campus in general, were looking at their best and, with the help of our excellent student ambassadors, staff volunteers, and Students’ Union societies, there was a great atmosphere.

Many of the visitors I spoke to said what a welcoming and friendly place Bath was and how well organised the day had been.

The Information Fair was continuously busy, and those giving departmental tours and talks were doing so to packed rooms. The sheer volume of hungry and thirsty visitors also stretched our catering staff and resources to the limit, but they coped admirably. Of course, the beautiful sunshine, especially during the morning, was an added bonus.

We are already thinking about how to make the Open Day even better next year. Feedback to First on the Park & Ride scheme will be an initial step, but all feedback is welcome. If you have any comments on Saturday's event or any ideas to improve future Open Days, please let Will Marsh in Corporate Communications know: W.J.Marsh@bath.ac.uk

I’m sure that the many thousands of prospective students and their families who came to Bath will have left with a very positive impression of our staff, our students and our campus.

Thank you once again.
