Confirmation & clearing: We need you!

Admissions are very keen to hear from any members of staff who would be willing to volunteer to work in this year’s Confirmation & Clearing Call Centre.

The Call Centre deals with calls from students following the publication of A-level results, most of whom will be calling to check whether their place at Bath has been confirmed or whether there are vacancies available via Clearing.

The call centre will be in operation between Thursday 13 and Monday 17 August, and we are looking for volunteers to work any of the following shifts:

  • Thu 13 Aug:    7.30am – 12.30pm
  • Thu 13 Aug:    12.00 – 5pm
  • Fri 14 Aug:      7.45am – 12.30pm
  • Fri 14 Aug:      12.15 – 5pm

There will be a short training session for all volunteers which will take place in late July/early August (with a range of dates to choose from).

While the Call Centre can be busy at times, and some of the calls can be a little difficult, there will be members of the Admissions team available in the call centre at all times to help with any difficult calls.

The vast majority of previous volunteers have really enjoyed the experience, and there will be a wide selection of tea, coffee, cake and other snacks available at all times!

If you would be willing to volunteer then please check with your line manager and then email s.g.lawrence@bath.ac.uk with details of the shift(s) you would be able to work.
