Come to our upcoming 'Research Rocket' event to find out how Bath research is having an impact around the world.

Come and see how research at Bath is changing the world.

All over our University people are carrying out world-leading research on a daily basis. However, do you know what they’re working on? Would you like to know more about what the University is researching in its quest to change the world for the better?

You might be aware that Bath, along with all other UK research universities, underwent an assessment in 2014 in which a very high 87% of its research was graded 4*/3*, defined as world-leading/internationally excellent.

We are now preparing for the next ‘Research Excellence Framework’ (REF) assessment, likely to take place in 2020/21. The speakers at this year’s Research Rocket event will discuss how their work is achieving the world-changing impact that Bath will likely submit to this assessment.

You are invited to attend ‘Research Rocket’, a free event, open to all. You will have the chance to find out about the exciting research being performed across the University of Bath through an eclectic mix of 12 snappy talks by a selection of our researchers.

The event will take place from 5pm - 7pm on Wednesday 3 February 2016 in the University’s East Building Lecture Theatre.

We are asking attendees to register so that we can serve drinks afterwards in the foyer area.

Professor Jonathan Knight, Pro-Vice-Chancellor (Research), said: “Through this event you will be able to learn about some of the ways research carried out here in Bath is having an impact around the world. Our research has wide-reaching applications, from tackling cancer to improving public policy. Come and join us for what promises to be an exciting evening.”
