Use of 把
When to use the 把 structure?
把 is used when the subject causes the object to change its location or status. There is no equivalent of 把 in English, and therefore it is not reflected in the English translation. The 把 structure is commonly used in Chinese.
subject ＋ 把 ＋ object + verb + result
你可以把蟹肉放在醋里蘸一下。
You can dip the crab meat in the vinegar
他可以把自己拍的照片放在里面。
He could use it for one of his own photos. (lit. He can put his own pictures in it.)
我把地址给你们写下来。
I'll write down the address for you.
我们喜欢把肉切成肉丁、肉片。
We like meat diced or sliced. (lit. We like to cut meat into cubes or slices.
我会把我太太介绍给你们。
I will introduce my wife to you.
