第二套房子比第一套(更)大。The second flat is (even) bigger than the first. 第二套房子比第一套大三十平方米。The second flat is bigger than the first by thirty square metres. 这套房子装修得比那套(还要)精致。This flat is (even) better decorated than that one. 这套房子装修得比那套精致多了。This flat is a lot better decorated than that one. A is as…as B

第二套不如第三套(那么)宽敞。The second one is not so spacious as the third one. 这套的家具配备没那套(那么)齐全。This one is not so well-furnished as that one. 这套房子装修得不如那套精致。This one is not so well decorated as that one. Please note that the comparative structure 'less....than' is literally expressed in Chinese by 'not so...as', as exemplified above, e.g. 'not so spacious as' (Chinese), 'less spacious than' (English). |
